Australasian Pharmaceutical Science Association

The Australasian Pharmaceutical Science Association (APSA) is a professional society for individuals with an interest in the pharmaceutical sciences and their practice.

About APSA

The Australasian Pharmaceutical Science Association (APSA) is a professional association for individuals with an interest in the pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy practice, and pharmacy and pharmaceutical science education. The Association strives to promote and advance the study and application of the pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice and to facilitate the exchange of information and experiences between pharmaceutical scientists, pharmacy practice researchers, and pharmacy and pharmaceutical science education experts in Australasia. APSA aims to promote and foster early career researchers through dedicated symposia at our annual conferences. APSA is a member organisation of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), a global federation representing pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists worldwide.

Membership is drawn from the Pharmacy Schools of Australasia, the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, and associated government departments. Annual conferences and regular short courses provide a forum for presentation of research and development applications from all branches of the pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy practice, and pharmacy and pharmaceutical science education. APSA recognises excellence by providing several competitive awards for members at varying stages of their scientific careers. The APSA medal is our Association’s highest award to recognise excellence and lasting contribution to the pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy practice and/or pharmacy and pharmaceutical science education. Additionally, in recognition of the valuable contribution of our student and early career researchers, APSA provides travel grants and prizes.

2023 FIP World Congress of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

Brisbane, 24 – 28 September 2023

As APSA is a host partner of this conference, we will not be holding our annual conference in late November/December but rather encourage all APSA members to attend FIP and submit an abstract for an oral/poster presentation. When submitting your abstract, you can indicate in the Additional Information tab, that you are an APSA member (this is critical for APSA student members so that we can collate your names and you will then be eligible for a travel grant). Please submit your abstract here before 1 May 2023.

If you are a full financial member of APSA in 2023 and you register here before 15 June 2023, you will receive the special Early Bird registration fee ($850AUD). However, you will need to ensure that you have become a financial member for APSA prior to 15 June 2023 in order to be eligible for this special Early Bird registration fee. Membership reminders will be sent out soon, but if you’d like to get in early, please apply or renew your membership at https://www.apsa-online.org/membership/. For any questions relating to your APSA membership, please contact apsamembership@expertevents.com.au

Please note that students will be eligible for a travel grant if they are providing an oral or poster presentation AND are student members of APSA prior to 15 June 2023 (see above links).
