Call for Symposia Proposals
Submission is now open for proposals for symposia to be presented at the APSA 2026 Annual Conference at RMIT University, Melbourne City Campus, Melbourne, Australia from 6 – 9 December 2026.
The theme of the conference is Innovation with Impact: Bridging Pharmaceutical Science, Education, and Practice

Symposium format
Each symposium will run for 1.5 hours and is suggested to incorporate three speakers, each with an allotted presentation time of 20 minutes plus 5-10 minutes to allow audience members to ask questions of presenters and for an exchange of views.
Conference symposia are expected to be of interest to APSA members, presenting research that integrates one or more of the APSA streams of pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy practice and pharmacy education.
Conference Registration and Travel Expenses
If your proposal is successful, the symposium applicant, chairperson and speakers will be required to register for the conference; full and day registrations will be available via the online registration portal. Registration costs and travel expenses are the responsibility of the individual symposium presenters. Dedicated symposium sponsorship to support presenter costs is encouraged and will be viewed favourably in the symposium review process. Symposium sponsors will be acknowledged in the conference program and during the symposium presentation.
Proposal Submission Instructions
Proposals shall be submitted via completion of the attached form and must include sufficient supporting material to permit the Organising Committee to evaluate the quality of and potential interest in the symposium.
Symposium proposals are to be submitted by Friday, 1 May 2026 via email to apsa@expertevents.com.au
Applicants will be advised via email the outcome of their symposium proposal by Monday 25 May 2026.
Successful applicants will be required to submit their confirmed symposium details to the Conference organiser by Monday, 1 June 2026.
Symposium presenters will be required to complete their registration by the presenter’s registration deadline, Wednesday 21 October 2026

How will my symposia application be judged?
Proposals must include sufficient supporting material to permit the Organising Committee to evaluate the quality of and potential interest in the symposium. Reviewers will rank the applications in order from most to least appropriate for the meeting according to the criteria below. Any conflicts of interest must be declared and the conflicted reviewer will abstain from ranking the symposia for which they have a conflict.
CONTENT
- Demonstrate sound scientific merit across the symposium talks;
- Include content that makes a contribution to knowledge;
- Demonstrate novelty or innovation; or,
- Provide new insights into old topics.
SPEAKERS
- Include a balance of early- and mid-career speakers, as well as established and senior researchers
PRESENTATION
- Well organised and clearly written; and
- Include a series of well-considered and coherent talks that contribute to the overall symposia theme.
AUDIENCE
- Address a topic that is of interest to more than one conference partner or more than one special interest group.

- Please ensure that you have sought agreement from speakers to participate in your symposium before including them in the application.
- Symposia will be ranked by the organising committee.
- Applicants will be advised via email whether their symposium proposal has been accepted by Monday 26 May 2025.
- Successful applicants will be required to submit their confirmed symposium details to the Conference organiser by Monday 2 June 2025.
- Symposium presenters will be required to complete their registration by the presenter’s registration deadline, Friday 24 October 2025.
